Certificate validity periods for UK landlords
Different compliance certificates have different validity periods. Gas safety certificates must be renewed every 12 months, EICRs every 5 years, and EPCs every 10 years. Missing a renewal deadline means operating without a valid certificate — which is a legal offence even if the property is safe.
